Carbon World Tour

An interactive Year 9 Science experience being developed to help students follow carbon through ecosystems, Earth systems and human activity.

A connected landscape showing forest, waterways, farms, coast and atmosphere

Following carbon through a connected planet

Carbon World Tour is being designed as a visual and interactive journey through the movement of carbon. Students will connect photosynthesis, respiration, combustion and decomposition with the atmosphere, biosphere, hydrosphere and geosphere.

The broader unit uses authentic environmental contexts to explore how carbon supports life, influences climate and moves through natural and human systems. The digital experience is currently being developed and refined.

This page provides a public preview of the project’s purpose and learning direction. The interactive experience will be published here when it is ready for classroom use.

Carbon processes

Photosynthesis, respiration, decomposition and combustion shown as connected movements.

Earth systems

Students trace how carbon moves between living things, water, air and land.

Human influence

Real-world examples connect everyday decisions with carbon and environmental impacts.
